Contractors call MAC Dumpsters for roll-offs matched to the trade: a 20 yard for general contracting and light demo, a 15 yard for remodels and most roofs, and a swap-out when a container fills before the job does. We deliver to jobsites across Baltimore City and Baltimore, Harford and Anne Arundel counties from our Middle River hook-lift dumpster service. Contractor pricing and terms are set up by phone at (410) 205-5330.

Dumpster sizes by trade
| Trade | Size | Reason | |
|---|---|---|---|
| General contractor | 20 yard, 3 tons | Multi-trade debris gets heavy, and the extra ton holds overage down | |
| Remodeler | 15 yard, 2 tons | Fits one kitchen or bath tear-out and most client driveways | |
| Roofer | 15 yard, 2 tons, or a 10 yard for small tear-offs | About 13 architectural or 22 3-tab squares before overage | |
| Landscaper | 15 yard, 2 tons | Room for bulky brush, with weight left for stumps and sod | |
| Demolition contractor | 20 yard, 3 tons | Light interior demo is dense and runs to weight fast | |
| Junk removal operator | 20 yard, 3 tons | The most room per haul for bulky household contents |
Estimates assume standard 33-gallon trash bags and a full-size pickup bed loaded level with the sides. Actual capacity depends on the material and how it's loaded. Included tonnage applies no matter how full the dumpster looks, and weight over it is billed per ton.
Working out of a client's driveway
Remodels usually mean the homeowner's driveway, and the homeowner is watching. The 15 yard sits on the same 14-foot by 89-inch footprint as the 20 and fits most drives. We can set it on any surface except inside Bel Air town limits, where grass and pervious surfaces are off limits. For the debris a house job throws off, see our residential dumpster guide.
Stumps and sod: accepted, and heavy
Stumps and rolled sod are some of the heaviest things a yard produces, and that weight is on the customer. Soil still attached to a stump or a roll of sod is fine. Spread heavy pieces across swaps, or step up to the 20 yard with 3 tons on a clearing job.
Loose dirt and hardscape stay out
Loose dirt can't go in, even a few wheelbarrows of it. Concrete pavers, brick edging, block walls and old asphalt are excluded too. Plan a separate way out for those before the container arrives. Our yard waste dumpster page sizes brush and land-clearing loads.
Staging a container at the client's property
Set the container at the client's driveway, then load straight out of the house instead of filling your truck and driving to the dump. The walk-in door lets a crew walk furniture in. Our estate cleanout dumpster page sizes whole-house jobs, where most of this work lands.
Item fees and freon on a junk load
Tires are $15 each, mattresses and box springs $30, and TVs, computers and non-freon appliances $35 each. Refrigerators, freezers and air conditioners have freon and can't go in at all. Bagged household garbage from the client's kitchen goes to their regular trash collection, not the container. Price those into your quote before the crew loads.
Swap-outs and long jobs
When a container fills mid-job, call or text and our truck pulls the full one and sets an empty in the same spot. A swap costs the rental price for that size and comes with fresh included tonnage, so the weight clock resets each haul. Our page on dumpster delivery and pickup shows how a swap runs on site.
For a job that runs for months, or a shop that always needs a container, we set up ongoing service by phone. See our long-term dumpster service page for how that works.
Contractor rates and terms, by phone
Our standard rates are published: $375, $450 and $550 for the 10, 15 and 20 yard, $125 per ton over and $25 per day past 14 days. Contractors can call (410) 205-5330 for special pricing and terms. Overage is the number that sinks a bid, and our guide to dumpster weight and tonnage shows how to estimate it before you price the job.
Why contractors run jobs with MAC
Hook-lift placement on tight lots
Our single-axle hook-lift slides the container straight back into place. That helps on infill lots, rowhome jobs and driveways where there's not much room to work.
We'll point you to the right permit office
You pull the permit, but we can tell you which office handles it for your address, from Baltimore City to the Harford towns. Ask before you book.
One size ladder for every trade
A 10, a 15 and a 20 cover six trades, with included weight that climbs from 1.5 to 3 tons. Tell us the trade and the scope, and we'll pick the rung.
From Parkton to Annapolis: where our truck goes
We deliver jobsite containers to Baltimore City and across Baltimore, Harford and Anne Arundel counties, including Parkton, Nottingham, Forest Hill, Havre de Grace and Annapolis. No jobsite in that area pays a delivery fee. See our complete delivery area for every town.
Contractor dumpster questions
How much should you charge to haul junk?
Most junk removal operators price by how much of the truck or container a job fills, plus pass-through fees for items like mattresses and tires. Start with your container cost. A 20 yard from MAC Dumpsters is $550 with 3 tons included, weight over that is $125 per ton, and contractors can call about special pricing.
What is the difference between junk removal and hauling?
Junk removal includes the labor: a crew comes in, loads the items and takes them away. Hauling is moving the material or the container once it's loaded. MAC Dumpsters does the hauling side only. We deliver the container and haul it away, and you or your crew load it.
Who pulls the permit for a jobsite dumpster?
The customer does. A container on a private driveway or lot usually needs no permit in the areas we serve, but one on a street or public right-of-way does. MAC Dumpsters doesn't pull permits, so apply with the city, county or town before delivery day.
How do I avoid overweight dumpster fees?
Size the container by weight, not by how full it looks. Split dense debris like plaster, tile and wet material across swaps instead of topping off one load. At MAC Dumpsters, the 10, 15 and 20 yard include 1.5, 2 and 3 tons, and each ton over is $125.
Can a dumpster be dropped before the crew gets there?
Yes, if the spot is clear and the truck can reach it. Tell us exactly where it goes and move trucks and materials out of the way beforehand. The 14-day rental starts on delivery day, so a container that lands days early uses up rental time.
