MAC Dumpsters rents dumpsters to homeowners for the jobs that build up around a house: the garage, the attic, the move, the remodel you keep putting off. Most of them fit a 10 yard at $375 or a 15 yard at $450, with 14 days to load and no delivery fee across Baltimore City and Baltimore, Harford and Anne Arundel counties. Home projects and the dumpster each one needs
Here are eight house jobs we see all the time, what each one throws out, and the size we'd send. For how home debris weighs and what can't go in, our residential dumpster rental guide goes deeper.
Garage cleanout
A garage gives up old bikes, broken shelving, boxes and lawn furniture nobody sits in anymore. It's bulky and light, so you'll run out of room before weight. A one-car garage fits a 10 yard dumpster, about four pickup loads. A packed two-car garage is a 15 yard job.
Attic cleanout
Attic loads come down a ladder or a narrow stair, so they arrive in small, light armfuls: boxes, old luggage, holiday bins and a broken lamp or two. Almost none of it is heavy. The 10 yard roll-off handles most attics, and at 12 feet long, it fits a short driveway.
Basement cleanout
Basements hold the heavier household things: an old sofa, a treadmill, metal shelving and carpet that got wet once. Damp items weigh more than they look. A 15 yard dumpster rental gives you about six pickup loads and 2 tons. An old dehumidifier or basement fridge has freon and has to stay out.
Moving out or downsizing
A move sorts the house into keep, donate and toss, and the toss pile is mostly furniture, mattresses and boxes. Mattresses and box springs go in at $30 each, but kitchen trash and bagged household garbage go out with your regular collection. Most single-family moves fit the 15 yard container, and a small apartment or rowhome may only need a 10.
Seasonal and holiday clear-outs
After the holidays or at the change of seasons, out go the artificial tree, broken decorations, cardboard and tired patio furniture. It's usually a weekend of work. A 10 yard for a quick clear-out kept 3 days or less takes $50 off with code 3DAY.
The honey-do backlog
This is the list that never got done: the rotted deck section, the broken swing set, a leaning shed, a few old doors and the toilet from the half bath. It's a dense, mixed load. The 15 yard gives it 2 tons to work with. Leave any concrete footings on fence or deck posts out of the container.
Spring cleaning
Spring cleaning takes a little from every room at once: closets, the kids' old toys, a spare bed frame, the rug in the den. One room is a small load, but a whole house adds up. The 15 yard size fits a full-house clean, and it's the size our customers rent most.
Kitchen and bath remodel
A tear-out sends cabinets, countertops, drywall, flooring, a vanity and fixtures out the door, and that debris hits its weight fast. One kitchen or one bathroom fits a 15 yard roll-off dumpster with 2 tons included. Doing both rooms at once usually calls for a 20 yard with 3 tons.
Estimates assume standard 33-gallon trash bags and a full-size pickup bed loaded level with the sides. Actual capacity depends on the material and how it's loaded. Included tonnage applies no matter how full the dumpster looks, and weight over it is billed per ton.
What homeowners get from MAC Dumpsters
Run by the Grafs, not a call center
The people who answer the phone own the company. Questions about what goes in or where the container sits get a straight answer from the owners.
Grass, gravel or pavement
Outside Bel Air town limits, we can set the container on any surface. A gravel pad, a side yard or a lawn all work.
One rental for the whole to-do list
Fourteen days is enough to clear the garage, pull the old deck and empty the attic on one rental. Line the jobs up and fill one container instead of renting three.
Homeowners we serve, county by county
In Baltimore County, we deliver to homes in Dundalk, Parkville and Kingsville. In Harford County, that includes Joppa, and in Anne Arundel County, Annapolis, along with houses and rowhomes across Baltimore City. No home in our area pays a delivery fee. Look up your town on our list of places we deliver.
Homeowner dumpster questions
What should I remove first when decluttering?
Start with the easy calls: broken things and anything you already know you won't keep. Then move the big pieces, like old furniture, because clearing them frees up room to sort the rest. Set donations aside early so nothing you meant to give away ends up in the container.
How do you get rid of old duvets and pillows?
Clean ones can often go to an animal shelter or a textile drop-off. Worn-out duvets and pillows can go in a MAC Dumpsters container with the rest of your household junk, with no extra fee. Bag them so they pack down tight.
Can I leave furniture on the curb?
Only if your local trash service allows it. Bulk item rules differ by county and city, and some require a scheduled pickup. Furniture set out without permission can be treated as illegal dumping. A rented dumpster keeps it on your own property until it's hauled.
What is the 12-12-12 rule for decluttering?
It's a quick decluttering method: find 12 things to throw away, 12 to donate and 12 to put back where they belong. It works well on a single room or closet. Repeat it a few times before a move, and the throw-away pile can fill a small dumpster.
How much does it cost to rent a dumpster for a week?
At MAC Dumpsters, a week costs the same as two, because every rental includes 14 days. A 10 yard is $375, a 15 yard is $450 and a 20 yard is $550, with no delivery fee. Finish in 3 days or less and code 3DAY takes $50 off.
