When you rent a dumpster, how long do you get it for?
At MAC Dumpsters, you get 14 calendar days with every rental, starting on delivery day and counting weekends. That's included in the $375 to $550 price. If you need it longer, each extra day is $25. If you're done in 3 days or less, code 3DAY takes $50 off.
Two weeks on the calendar
Two weeks is enough for most single projects, including a garage or basement cleanout, a one-room remodel, a roof tear-off or a move-out. The days run on the calendar, not on loading days, so a rainy Tuesday still counts. Call or text when you're done, even if it's day 4, and we'll pick it up.
Single projects that fit a short-term rental
- Weekend garage or shed cleanout
- Moving out or moving in
- One-room remodel
- Roof tear-off
- Yard or brush cleanup
- One-time office or store cleanout
- A contractor's single job or punch-out
How the 3DAY code works
Enter 3DAY when you book online, or mention it when you call. Days count from the day we drop the container off, and the rental has to be 3 days or less to pickup. A Friday drop with a Monday pickup counts as one weekend, since Sunday is a day off for our truck. The code is permanent, not a seasonal sale, and it works on every size.
Planning a 3-day job
Clear the drop spot and line up help before the container arrives, so all three days go to loading. Sort keep, donate and toss piles the week before. Text us for pickup as soon as the last load goes in.
Picking a size for a short job
On a short job, the right size is the one you only book once. Running out of room means a swap-out at the full rental price, which costs more than stepping up a size.
10 yard for a weekend in one space
The 10 yard dumpster rental fits one room, a one-car garage or a small roof: about four pickup loads with 1.5 tons included. With 3DAY, it's $325, the least a quick job costs with us.
15 yard for most single projects
The mid-size container holds about six pickup loads and includes 2 tons. It's the size our customers book most, and it covers a kitchen or bath tear-out, a basement cleanout or a move-out with room to spare.
20 yard for one big push
The largest container we carry holds about eight pickup loads with 3 tons included. Book it when a whole house, a multi-room remodel or a large store cleanout has to happen in one go.
Estimates assume standard 33-gallon trash bags and a full-size pickup bed loaded level with the sides. Actual capacity depends on the material and how it's loaded. Included tonnage applies no matter how full the dumpster looks, and weight over it is billed per ton.
What can't go in, even for a few days
A short rental follows the same rules as any other. Keep out freon appliances like refrigerators and air conditioners, paint, hazardous materials, and concrete, brick, block, asphalt and dirt. Tires are $15 each, mattresses and box springs $30 each, and e-waste and non-freon appliances $35 each. Our list of what we cannot take has the details.
Permits on a short timeline
On your own driveway or property, most areas we serve need no permit, so a short rental can start as soon as it's delivered. A container on the street needs a right-of-way permit, which you get yourself. That can take longer than the job: in Baltimore City, standard processing is 15 days. If the container has to go on a city street, apply before you book. Our permit rules by jurisdiction page has each area's office.
Order, load, text us: the short version
Book online and pick your delivery day, or call (410) 205-5330. Order by noon for the best chance at same-day delivery, depending on availability. Our hook-lift truck slides the container straight into your spot, and your 14 days start. Load it level with the top edge. An overfilled container may not be hauled until the extra comes off, because loose debris can fall onto the road. Text us when you're done and we'll pick it up. Our page on our delivery process covers the details.
Why short jobs book with MAC
Two weeks come standard
You don't pick a rental length or pay more for a longer one. Every container comes with 14 days, whether you use two of them or all fourteen.
Extra days cost $25, not a new rental
If the job runs over, the container stays and each day adds $25. You won't need to rebook or wait for a second delivery.
The weekend price is printed
With code 3DAY, a 10 yard is $325, a 15 yard $400 and a 20 yard $500 for 3 days or less. You know the number before you book.
Short-term rentals across our four areas
We deliver short-term rentals to Baltimore City and across Baltimore, Harford and Anne Arundel counties, from Essex and White Marsh to Bel Air, Abingdon and Annapolis. No address in that area pays a delivery fee. Look up your town on our service area page.
Short-term dumpster questions
Do you tip dumpster delivery?
You can, but you don't have to. A tip isn't part of the rental price, and MAC Dumpsters customers are welcome to tip the driver if they'd like to.
Can I move a roll off dumpster myself?
No. A roll-off container is too heavy to move by hand and needs the truck. If it's in the wrong spot, call us before you start loading, because a full container is much harder to reposition.
What should I expect for dumpster pick up?
Text or call when you're done, and we'll come back with the truck and haul the container away. Keep the load level with the top edge and keep the path to the container clear. Any weight over the included tons is billed after the load is weighed at the landfill.
Can I get a dumpster the same day I order?
Sometimes. MAC Dumpsters runs one truck, so same-day delivery depends on availability. Order by noon for the best chance at a same-day drop-off.
Does the 3DAY discount work on every size?
Yes. Code 3DAY takes $50 off a 10, 15 or 20 yard rental kept 3 days or less. The included tonnage stays the same.
Reserve your two weeks
Pick your size and your delivery day, and add 3DAY if you'll be done in three days. Book online, or call (410) 205-5330 to talk through your debris.
